Abstract
The city of Surabaya is the center of the economy in East Java. The second largest metropolitan area in Indonesia with a population of around 10 million people, is one of the most densely populated cities in Indonesia. The link between Surabaya City with Gresik and Sidoarjo Regencies consists of arterial roads which include Jalan Joyoboyo, Jalan Gunungsari, Jalan Mastrip, Jalan Raya Kebraon, Jalan Raya Karangpilang. Conditions along the road are industrial areas and also dense residential areas which can cause congestion and increase in vehicle volume. The impact of traffic jams is the increase in ground surface temperature caused by motorized vehicle engines and increased air pollution in the form of exhaust emissions (CO2) generated from vehicle fumes. This study aims to determine the relationship between ground surface temperature and CO2 emissions on vehicle volume. Data collection was obtained from Landsat 8 satellite imagery as well as direct research in the field which was carried out at 10.00-12.00 WIB, at which time the satellite was recording data. Landsat 8 satellite imagery data obtained was carried out by a T-test with in-situ soil surface temperature data to determine the difference in the mean value. The entire data obtained was then correlated to find out the relationship between ground surface temperature and CO2 to vehicle volume on the theoretical basis of the 1997 Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (MKJI). As well as mapping with GIS tools using the ArcGIS 10.8 application. The conclusion obtained in this study, the correlation value between vehicle volume and ground surface temperature is greatest in the direction from Surabaya to Gresik with the equation y = -8E-09x3 + 6E-06x2 + 0.0105x + 38.62 and the R2 value is 0. 6766 and the correlation between vehicle volume and CO2 emissions is the largest in the direction from Surabaya to Gresik with the equation y = 1E-06x3 – 0.0018x2 + 1.2849x + 811.39 and the R2 value is 0.5765.
