Abstract

Tomato is a plant that is included in horticultural commodities and has good potential to be developed in Indonesia, many people consume tomatoes either eaten directly or processed first. The demand for tomatoes always increases every year, but along with the increase, there are always obstacles. Constraints that are often faced include the use of unsuitable planting media on the roots of tomato plants and the provision of fertilizers to support tomato production. Efforts that can be made in the presence of these obstacles can be done by giving the composition of the planting media from several kinds of planting media including soil, husk charcoal and chicken manure and applying POC banana weevil as a substitute for inorganic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of the best growing media and the best concentration of liquid organic fertilizer for banana weevil, and to determine the interaction of the composition of the growing media and the concentration POC on banana weevil in tomato plants. The research was conducted at the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur with a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK). The first factor is the composition of the planting media, namely M0 (Soil) = control; M1 ( 1 (Soil) : 2 (Husk Charcoal) : 3 (Chicken Cage Fertilizer); M2 ( 2 (Soil) : 1 (Husk Charcoal) : 3 (Chicken Cage Fertilizer); M3 ( 3 (Soil) : 2 (Charcoal) Husk) : 1 (Chicken Cage Fertilizer) and the second factor, namely the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer on banana hump K0 (Control NPK 16:16:16); K1 (400 ml/l); K2 (500ml/l); K3 (600 ml/l) The results showed that the composition of planting media M1 ( 1 (Soil): 2 (Husk Charcoal): 3 (Chicken Cage Fertilizer) and liquid organic fertilizer banana weevil concentration of 600 ml/l had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves , stem diameter, age of flower emergence, number of flowers, number of fruit, total number of fruit, fresh weight of fruit per harvest period and total fresh weight of fruit per harvest period.
