Abstract

Maize downy mildew is one of the causes of low national maize production. Environmental conditions such as low temperatures and high humidity can increase the occurrence of disease. Disease control efforts are still dominated by synthetic pesticides which have several negative impacts. This can be suppressed through geospatial-based monitoring which aims to determine the distribution patterns of pathogens and abiotic and cultivation factors that can influence the occurrence of downy mildew disease. Based on the analysis of observations, distribution of disease throughout the observed land in Puri, Mojokerto spatially using the Variance / Average Index and the Morisita Index show a clustering pattern and then evenly distributed at the 5th and 6th week of observation. Geospatial distribution patterns of pathogens using semivariogram also show clustering patterns and then evenly distributed at the 5th and 6th week of observation. The use of resistant varieties influences the level of disease occurrence and the pattern of pathogen distribution in the land.
