Abstract
Mountain climbing is nature tourism that is in great demand today. Moreover, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy seeks to prepare for increasing competence in the new normal era in nature tourism. Wisnu Bawa Tarunajaya as Director of Human Resource Development and Tourism believes that the tourism sector will be busy, especially nature tourism after the pandemic is over. One of them is Mount Arjuno. Mount Arjuno has several heritage sites from the Majapahit and Singasari Kingdoms. This can be an opportunity to increase the attractiveness of the community to visit. In addition to climbing, they can learn and gain a lot of knowledge about these sites. This design is entitled "Designing a Guidebook for Climbing Mount Arjuno via Tambaksari as Information Media". With a size of 15x21 cm, the guide book was chosen because it can be carried and included in the climber's daypack without having to open the cellphone first. This design uses two methodological stages, namely the preparation and creation stages. The preparation stage includes data collection, data analysis, synthesis, and determination of the design object. Then the creation stage includes pre-production, production, and post-production. In data analysis, the writer uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. This technique is used after getting data from interviews, observations, and questionnaires. After going through this process, the keyword “Exciting Climbing” was born. The designed guidebook has some information that can help climbers when climbing Mount Arjuno via Tambaksari. Information that can be obtained is pre-climbing, climbing, and post-climbing. With this book, it is hoped that climbers can enjoy the journey while climbing and can safely reach their destination.
