Abstract
PT. Loka Refractories Wira Jatim is a company engaged in the production of refractory stone in Surabaya. In its production activities, defects often occur so that it requires quality analysis using the New Seven Tools method. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that cause defects, their impact, and provide suggestions for improving the quality of refractory stones using the New Seven Tools method. The average number of production from January to December 2021 is 22926 units and the average number of defective products from January to December 2021 is 466 units with three types of defects such as gopil, porous, and out of iron. The average percentage of refractory stone defects in the period from January to December 2021 is 5.92%, so it requires a proposal for improvement. With the New Seven Tools , the results of the research are that there are three main priorities that must be carried out in the proposed improvement, the first is checking the material before printing the product, then the second is setting a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for strict raw material inspection, and proposed improvements. The third is checking raw materials periodically before entering the production process.
