Abstract
PT Exel Mandiri Innovation is a company engaged in the manufacturing of tools for food manufacture. In the production process PT. Exel Mandiri Innovation has a welding division whose job is to connect materials for manufacturing purposes. However, in the implementation of production activities, there are still employees, especially the welding department, who do not apply an ergonomic work posture. Based on observations and brief informal interviews with welding employees, problems of muscle fatigue were still found. The employees suffered of pain in several body parts involved in welding work activities. The method proposed to analyze and improve this work posture is the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment. The results of measuring the risk of working posture on operator shows that most of the operator are in high work posture risk. The recommended work posture can be lowered the risk of work posture which is also supported by the proposed tool design work aids that can assist welding operators in maintaining an ergonomic work posture.
