Abstract
Banyuwangi is the largest district in East Java which is developing its tourism sector. Having a lot of potential, including natural potential and also cultural arts, makes the number of domestic and foreign tourists to Banyuwangi increase every year. Hotel and lodging occupancy in Banyuwangi is recorded to reach almost 100% in 2020, therefore an increase in the number of tourists will have an impact on increasing the need for accommodation facilities in the form of lodging. The natural and cultural potential of Banyuwangi which is famous for can be a mecca in planning and designing new accommodations in the form of resorts, seeing only a few hotels that utilize these two elements at once. The resort that will be designed is classified as a beach resort where it is located on the beach and sea as its natural potential. This resort also uses a hybrid method as an implementation of combining elements of the Osing Banyuwangi culture and modern culture, especially in its architecture. As this aims to preserve the culture of Banyuwangi in accordance with the instructions of the Banyuwangi government itself and take advantage of the potential of nature as a visitor attraction. This paper aims to formulate the conceptual basis for planning and designing this beach resort which is expected to be able to meet the accommodation needs of tourists in the future.
