Abstract

Tomatoes are one of the horticultural plants that have very good prospects for development because they have advantages and characteristics that are loved by everyone. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum, Mill.) Plants due to spacing and concentration of biological fertilizers. This research was conducted in Jetis Hamlet, Petiyin Tunggal Village, Dukun District, Gresik Regency, East Java. This study uses two factors, namely the first factor is the spacing which consists of 3 levels, namely 30 x 50 cm, 40 x 50 cm and 50 x 50 cm. The second factor is the concentration of biological fertilizers which consists of 3 levels, namely, 5 ml/liter of water, 10 ml/liter of water and 15 ml/liter of water. The results showed that there was an interaction between spacing and the concentration of biological fertilizers on the parameter of fruit yield per fruit. The combination of spacing and concentration of biological fertilizer is shown by J3K1 (Plant distance 50 x 50 cm with a concentration of biological fertilizers 5 ml/liter of water). The best spacing for the growth and yield of tomatoes was shown in treatment J1 (30 x 50 cm) on the parameters of plant length, fruit weight per plant and total fruit weight per plot. The best concentration of liquid biological fertilizer on growth and yield was shown in the K1 treatment (5 ml/liter of water) on the parameters of plant length, number of leaves, number of flowers, number of fruit formed, fruit set, fruit weight per plant and total yield per plant swath.
