Abstract

Coffee is one of Indonesia's leading export commodities in the plantation subsector and is one of the main commodities from Indonesia. Indonesia has several coffee export destinations, one of which is Japan, but coffee exports to Japan have decreased since 2014-2019 based on BPS. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of Indonesian coffee exported to Japan, to explain the development of Indonesian coffee exports to Japan and to analyze the factors that influence the volume of Indonesian coffee exports to Japan. The research method used is descriptive with a quantitative approach, the least square method (least square) to determine the trend of Indonesian coffee export volume to Japan and the Error Correction Model model used to correct the regression equation between the variables that are individually not stationary so that they return to their respective values. balance in the long run. The results of the study show that 1) Types of coffee exported from Indonesia to Japan such as premium coffee, Top specialty coffee in the form of green beans. 2) The trend of Indonesian coffee export volume to Japan from 1980 to 2019 has a downward trend. 3) The variables of price, production, exchange rate, and population growth have an effect on the long-term estimate of the volume of coffee exports, while for the short-term estimation the five variables have no significant effect
