Abstract

PT. Petrokimia Gresik is one of the largest fertilizer and chemical product manufacturers in Indonesia. Until now PT. Petrokimia Gresik develops sulfuric acid products derived from sulfur/sulfur raw materials to meet market demand or consumer needs, so the company tries to reduce the occurrence of shortages or excess inventories resulting in unfulfilled demand and inventory costs. The purpose of this research is to control the supply of sulfuric acid raw material to minimize the total inventory cost. The method used is the Continuous (Q) and Periodic (P) Review method. Based on the results of research on the Continuous Review (Q) Lost Sales method, the total cost of Rp. 307.509.552.710,- then the method is compared with the Periodic (P) Review Lost Sales method where the total cost is Rp. 307.684.716.947,-.Then the Continuous Review (Q) Lost Sales method was chosen with the minimum total cost and compared to the company's method of Rp. 307.965.527.760,- or the fee reaches 15%. Inventory control of sulfur raw materials during the next period obtained a total inventory cost of Rp. 307.397.110.884,-. The recommendation that can be put forward is to apply the Continuous Review (Q) Lost Sales method because it can provide a minimum total inventory cost by taking into account the number of needs and total costs incurred so that there is no shortage and excess of raw material inventory
