Abstract

Bacterial wilt disease caused by the bacterium Ralstonia solanacearum. It has a wide range of host plants, including the Solanaceae family. The losses incurred are very large up to 100% in cultivated plants. Environmental friendly alternative control is by using biological agents Trichoderma sp. Several types of Trichoderma sp. known to be able to control R. solanacearum among others Trichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma asperellum, and Trichoderma koningii. This study aims to determine the potential of Trichoderma spp in controlling R. solanacearum outside the host plant in a controlled environment. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor that is antagonistic fungi. Experiments were carried out without antagonistic fungi as control, T. harzianum, T. asperellum, and T. koningii with 5 repetitions. The results showed that of the three types of Trichoderma spp. that were able to inhibit the most was T. asperellum treatment with an average inhibition reached 9,6 mm at the age of 24 hours and 6,8 mm at the age of 48 hours. Keywords: Biological agens, Bacterial wilt, Ralstonia solanacearum, Trichoderma spp.
