Abstract

Smart Environment is a part or dimension of Smart City that specializes in how to create a smart (smart) environment. Based on the Smart Environment concept presented by the Surabaya City Cleanliness and Green Open Space Office, it has three concepts, namely Smart Energy which includes the use of renewable alternative energy, Smart Water/Air/Land includes reforestation and drainage in the environment and Smart Waste Management which includes environmental cleanliness and waste sorting. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a research focus based on the Surabaya City Government Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2019 concerning Waste Management and Cleanliness in the City of Surabaya to get to the Surabaya Smart City. The types and sources of data in this study are primary data and secondary data. Then the technique of collecting data was obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. In this study, the data analysis technique carried out by the researcher was using an interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman by analyzing data through data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. The results obtained are: (1) sustainability in the smart environment program when viewed based on the society pillar has not been fully successful in realizing public awareness in managing the environment, (2) the sustainability of the smart environment program in the environment pillar has not succeeded in realizing an environment with reforestation and urbanization. farming in the city of Surabaya, (3) the sustainability of the smart environment program in the economy pillar has succeeded in realizing the economic welfare of the community.
