Abstract

The fundamental problem faced by every country in the beginning of economic development policies other than economic growth is the aspect of equitable distribution of economic development results. Economic growth that is often used as an indicator of economic progress in various countries turns out to make various problems. In some developing countries, this goal sometimes creates a dilemma between economic growth or income inequality and poverty. This study aims to find out the influence between the Human Development Index (HDI), Poverty, and Regional Native Income (PAD) on the Gini Ratio in East Java Province in 2014-2019. The method used on this study is panel data regression analysis. The results of the chow test and the thirstman test show that the best exact model is used on panel data regression i.e., Fixed Effect Model (FEM) with a statistically significant value of 5%. Thus it can be drawn to the conclusion that simultaneously the whole independent variable has a positive and significant effect on the Gini Ratio. Meanwhile, the partial Human Assurance Index (IPM) and Poverty have a positive influence on the Gini Ratio and the Regional Original Income variable has a negative effect on the Gini Ratio. Keywords : Human Development Index, Poverty, Regional Original Income, Gini Ratio
