Abstract

Sub-district Porong is a sub-district in Sidoarjo district which suffers from frequent road damage and relatively high damage area compared to other sub-districts. The road damage was caused by traffic jams from the traditional trade area and economic distribution area which are spread throughout the Porong sub-district, in addition to the Porong sub-district there is a provincial road which is an alternative road to big cities such as Malang, Surabaya and Pasuruan. The purpose of this research is to explain the characteristics of the traffic volume , find out what types of damage occur , calculate the damage value and the value of road conditions , and then in the end do a Geographic Information System - based mapping . The method for this final project uses the Bina Marga method based on the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) and mapping using a Geographic Information System (GIS) as a tool that combines spatial data and information data to obtain a spatial description of the types of road damage and how the characteristics of the drainage and traffic volume of the roads under study. Based on the results of field observations, it was found that Porong Highway in the direction of Malang-Surabaya, Porong Highway in the direction of Surabaya-Malang, Gempol Highway in the direction of Surabaya-Malang, Gempol Highway in the direction of Malang-Surabaya, New Arterial Road in the direction of Malang-Surabaya, and Arterial Road. Baru Direction Surabaya - Malang has a traffic volume of 1237.75 pcu/hour, 1310.89 pcu/hour, 1640.56 pcu/hour, 1827.02 pcu/hour, 1025.83 pcu/hour, 1371.74 pcu/hour. Road damage that occurred in the six road sections were longitudinal cracks , crocodile skin cracks , winding cracks , patches , and potholes . The value of the priority order of each road is 9,7,9,9,8, and 10. Furthermore, from the observations obtained the value of road damage for each road is 10,11,13,8,11, and 16.
