Abstract

Stagnant water that pools on the runway surface layer, and the load aircraft that occurs continuously can result in reduced adhesion between aggregate and asphalt, causing structural damage pavement on the runway that is less than the design life. Styrofoam that is thermoplastic which when heated will soften and will return hardens when it cools down. The pine sap is one of nature's products non-timber products obtained by tapping pine tree trunks, which is sticky and has a high degree of melting at high temperatures and serves as the most important raw material for oil, gondorukem, and soap ingredients So that from these two material properties, innovations emerge to use Styrofoam and pine resin as filler in asphalt mixture. In this study the authors used the percentage of asphalt 4%, 5%, and 6% to find the optimum asphalt content without filler, and for asphalt content optimum with the addition of pine resin and styrofoam filler. As for the determination against the compressive strength of the largest test object is the test result from Marshal Test. Pertamina Pen asphalt test results. 60/70 penetration value obtained 66.8 mm, softening point 56°C, flash point 285°C, ductility 130.30 cm, and the optimum asphalt content at 4%. The stability value obtained is 3309.95 kg, flow value is 6.95 mm, Marshall Quotient value is 476.29 kg/mm. The results of the modified asphalt test obtained a penetration value of 64.3 mm, softening point at 96°C, flash point 256°C, ductility at 23.93 cm, and optimum asphalt content at 6%, the results of testing the physical properties of asphalt have met the 2006 Bina Marga specification regarding Modified Asphalt. The stability value obtained by 3540.62 kg, flow value of 5.34 mm, Marshall Quotien . value of 1001.34 kg/mm. From the results of testing the physical properties of asphalt, it can be concluded that that modified asphalt with asphalt content of 90%, 3% pine resin, and styrofoam 7% better than Pertamina 60/70 asphalt, and modified pine resin asphalt and styrofoam has complied with the requirements of the 2018 Highways specification with a minimum stability value of 1000 kg and a Marshall Quotient of 250 kg/mm and Marshall parameters, namely flow of 2-4 mm, VIM of 3-5%, VMA of 15%, and a minimum VFA of 65%.
