Abstract

Gresik is a district connected to the Surabaya West Shipping Line (APBS), stretching from the Port of Surabaya to Karang Jamuang. There are 3 main ports that are actively operating in Gresik, namely Gresik Port, Petrokimia Port, and JIIPE Kalimireng Manyar Port as a port whose development just finished in 2017. These three ports are connected in the APBS to the port of Surabaya. The Gresik area is currently developing in the JIIPE Kalimireng Manyar Port area. Observing the growth of the JIIPE Manyar Port, which has the status of an International Port, has led to the development of the passenger transportation mode sector. This refers to the development of the Cruise Terminal which in the context of local shipping is defined as a passenger sailing ship terminal. Therefore, the author aims to design an energy-efficient Cruise Terminal which can later become a role model for the shipping industry in Indonesia. In achieving this, the authors apply a passive design approach with the aim of optimizing buildings designed based on the characteristics of the design land to minimize energy consumption and carbon emissions from the building.
