Abstract

Lusi Island (Sidoarjo Mud) is an artificial island formed from Sidoarjo mud deposits. Based on data from the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office of Sidoarjo Regency in 2017, the Tlocor Marine Tourism area which is connected to Lusi Island is one of the most visited tourist areas in Sidoarjo. One of the natural potentials on Lusi Island is the existence of mangrove forest ecosystems, fish farming ponds (wanamina), as well as sunrise and sunset views seen at the mouth of the Porong river which has calm water currents. With the large potential of tourists visiting the tourist area of Lusi Island, it is necessary to provide accommodation facilities with recreational facilities, so that they can meet the needs of various tourist activities. The design concept refers to the Organic Mangrove Landscape theme in its design to harmonize the building design with the character of the site environment and apply an organic architectural approach that displays building forms inspired by mangrove plants starting from the roots, stems, and leaves as well as the use of color compositions from natural materials which are dominated by bamboo. This concept is supported by applying organic architectural methods, namely the method of building as nature, form following flows, of the people, and of the materials into the design concept of the Resort. The design results from the design concept produce a building mass arrangement with an organic circulation pattern and a building design form that adapts to the shape of the mangrove plant. The appearance of the building has a color composition of natural materials from bamboo, wood, stone, and shingle roofs that are applied exposed. That way the overall design of the building will be designed to be in harmony with the environment around the site and can attract the interest of visiting tourists.
