Abstract

The problem that come up recently is the shift in the interest of farmers in choosing ordinary NPK 15-15-15 to NPK (15-15-15) plus fertilizer to increase the yields of tomato. In order to improve the quality of tomato it self, farmers often do not think over how much the costs they spend dan how much the benefits they get of the product they used in cultivation activities, such as in the selection of fertilizer, also the method of fertilizing will affect the plant nutrients uptake. This study aims to know the effect of NPK fertilizer and method of fertilizing on growth and yields of tomato. This study was conducted in Dusun. Klinter, Desa. Pelem, Kertosono, Nganjuk in January until April 2020. This research is used randomize block with two factors, the first factor is type of NPK fertilizer (M) consisting of 3 levels ; M1 = NPK Phonska fertilizer, M2 = NPK Phonska plus fertilizer, M3 = NPK Mutiara fertilizer and the second factor is the method of fertilizing (P) consisting of 2 levels; P1 = the dibble method, P2 = the pour method. The result of this study showed that the treatment combination between types of NPK fertilizer and method of fertilizing is not significant on the growth of tomato. the pour method had a significant effect on the 3rd week harvest and 4 th harvest of growth of tomato.
