Abstract

The melinjo chips business in Mejono Village is one of the industries located in Kediri Regency with the main raw material in the form of melinjo. One of the efforts to help the welfare of the community is the home industry. The development of a business can be determined by the ability to build a strategy in the business. Strategy will make the company look to the future and try to shape its future proactively. The existence of a strategy is expected to be able to help towards the company's goals that have been set. The objectives of this study are to: 1) Identify internal and external factors that affect the melinjo chips business in Mejono Village, Plemahan District, Kediri Regency. 2) Develop appropriate development strategies to be applied in the melinjo chips business in Mejono Village, Plemahan District, Kediri Regency. Respondents from this study amounted to 5 producers of melinjo chips in Mejono Village with purposive sampling technique and the community around Mejono Village. Primary data was obtained through direct interviews with respondents, field observations, recording, and documentation during the research, while secondary data was obtained through the Central Statistics Agency, literature studies from scientific literature, and other literature. The analysis was carried out using a SWOT analysis. Based on the research results show that: 1) Internal factors consist of strengths and weaknesses, namely production capacity to meet consumer demand, low human resource levels, while external factors consist of opportunities and threats, namely high melinjo emping consumption levels, Jurnal Ilmiah Mahasiswa AGROINFO GALUH Volume 9, Nomor 1, Januari 2022 : 203-214 204 unstable raw material prices, 2 The business strategy that can be done is to maintain quality, product quality and consumer trust, sell melinjo chips in tourist areas, sell at a previously agreed price.
