Abstract
Power is the space of relations, where there is a relationship, there is power, as well as power with the case of the alleged theft of teak wood by Nenek Asyani in Situbondo on Kompas.com news. The purpose of this study is to find out how to dismantle power in the reporting of the case of Nenek Asyani and teak wood on Kompas.com through Michel Foucault's critical discourse. This research was conducted using an empirical analysis approach to Michel Foucault's critical discourse, Knowledge or knowledge and ethnomethodology through social, historical and political problems below as well as an analysis of the daily lives of individuals, namely Asyani critically and historically through the change of words and the use of language and revealing and power changing ways. View of the case of Nenek Asyani who was innocent of stealing teak wood in the online media coverage of Kompas.com. The results showed that with the theoretical approach of Michel Foucault Knowledge or knowledge and Ethnomethodology, it was possible to uncover and find the findings of Kompas.com's news on the case of Asyani as reporting that was less neutral and balanced. The source of the impartiality and imbalance in Kompas.com's reporting on the power possessed by Perhutani and the legal apparatus to make Asyani a teak thief.
