Abstract

Highway can be accessed by paying toll according to the class of vehicles allowed to pass. However, the toll payment process is one of the causes of queues that may occur at toll gates and can cause congestion. In this study, the object of research is the queue at Gerbang Exit Tol Waru Utama. Gerbang Exit Tol Waru Utama is part of Surabaya-Gempol toll road, it has 10 toll booths, 7 booths are exits from Gempol with a single service pattern (Single Channel) and 3 booths from Tanjung Perak without transactions. This toll gate experiences a queue more than 1 kilometer at peak hours. The analysis carried out the analysis of queuing components (arrival rate (λ), departure rate (μ), and service time) using the M/M/N method. The results of the evaluation carried out on 14-20 December 2020 were on December 14 the morning session at booth 2, 4, 12 payment counters became 2 servers while the afternoon session at booth 4 became 2 servers, on December 15 the morning session at booth 2 became 2 servers and at substation 8 became 3 servers while in the afternoon session at booth 2, 4, 8 became 2 servers, on December 16 the morning session at booth 8 became 2 servers while in the afternoon session at booth 12 became 3 servers, on December 17 the morning session at booth 4 and 8 it becomes 2 servers while in the afternoon session at booth 2, 4, 8 it becomes 2 servers. This result is considered by the departure rate and vehicle service time which results in additional servers being carried out at booth 16 and booth 2 . Keywords: Queue, Queue Evaluation, Toll Gate, Extended Toll Booth
