Abstract
In the 21st century, video games are getting better. This research was based on how violance has inspiring gamers to behave like criminals and killing someone in real life because of the video game ―Grand Theft Auto V‖ with virtual reality technology which is making this game so much profits. This research was conducted in order to determine violance other types and forms of violance in that video game. The method used in this study is qualitative which aims to explain the types and forms of violance in the video game. This research uses semiotic analysis of John Fiske with his three levels, reality, representation and ideology. The results of this research finally proving that the representation of violance in a video game like Grand Theft Auto V, it turns out that there‘s a cultural changing which made violance caused by the ideology of materialism has become entertainment.
