Abstract

Cayenne pepper is a type of horticultural commodity that has a fairly high economic value and is in great demand by the Indonesian people because of its taste and high nutritional content. The aims of this research is to determine the effect of paclobutrazol concentration and dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of Cayenne plants. This research was conducted on the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of National Development "Veteran" East Java in February 2021 - June 2021 using polybags. This research is a factorial experiment based on a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of two factors, the first factor is the concentration of paclobutrazol (P) consisting of 4 level and the second factor is dose of NPK fertilizer consisted of 4 level. Treatment concentration of paclobutrazol (P) consisted of 0 ppm (P0), 100 ppm (P1), 150 ppm (P2), 200 ppm (P3). Treatment doses of NPK fertilizer (N) consisted of 800 kg/ha (N0), 600 kg/ha (N1), 1,000 kg/ha (N2 ), 1,200 kg/ha (N3).The results showed that the combination of 100 ppm paclobutrazol + 43,2 g/plant of NPK fertilizer increased the number total of leaf and fruits, total weight of fruits, and fruitset.
