Abstract
The purpose of this study to examine and prove significant differences LQ45 stock performance before and after the national announcement of the Covid-19. This study uses secondary data and the type of quantitative research with the event study method (event study). The event observed in this study was the Covid-19 pandemic on stock performance as measured by changes in LQ45 stock prices and stock returns before and after the Covid-19 pandemic was announced. The sampling technique in this study used a saturated sampling technique. Therefore, the sample of this study is all listing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with the LQ45 index category, which is 45 issuers. The analysis technique used is the paired sample t-test if the data is normally distributed, but if it is not normal then the wilcoxon signed rank test is used. The results showed that there were significant differences in LQ45 stock prices and stock returns before and after the national announcement of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia affected LQ45 stock prices and stock returns. Kerywords: Stock prices, stock returns, Covid-19 pandemic, LQ45 index
