Abstract
"Wedi”snakefruit of low quality is processed through SMEs into snakefruitdates with the aim of increasing the selling value. SMEs processing snakefruitdates "Wedi" must maintain efficiency and profitability in order to maintain business continuity. However, of the21 SMEs processing "Wedi" snakefruitdates, only 3 SMEs survive. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze the profitability of SMEs processing "Wedi"snakefruitdates(2) to analyze the efficiency of SMEs processing "Wedi"snakefruitdates (3) to determine the strategy of maintaining business in the surviving SMEs (4) to determine the cause of the majority of SMEs not being able to maintain their business. The methods used are quantitative analysis, efficiency analysis of the DEA method, and qualitative descriptive analysis. The sample is 3 MSMEs that are still surviving and 5 MSMEs that are not surviving which are determined through the Purposive Sampling technique. The results showed that the profitability of SMEs in the processing of "Wedi"snakefruitdates was MSME Bunda Arum at 28.38%, MSME Shanum at 40.33%, and MSME Barokah at 59.19%. All SMEs processing "Wedi"snakefruitdateshave been efficient based on the calculation of the cost efficiency of the DEA method obtained a score of 100%. The strategy of SMEs processing "Wedi"snakefruitdates that still survives in maintaining its business is to maintain the availability of raw materials, production continuity, maintain efficiency in the use of production infrastructure, improve the quality and quantity of "Wedi" salak dates, create marketing strategies, and maintain good relations with stakeholders. The causes of SMEs processing "Wedi"snakefruitdates are not able to maintain their business continuity are the high competition and lack of cooperation between producers, social inequality between producers, less active promotions to expand marketing, and "Wedi" salak dates products that are not sold out.Kewords: Profitability, Efficiency, MSMEs, “Wedi” snakefruit
