Abstract
ABSTRACT Since 2020, the covid outbreak has caused many significant changes in various sectors in Indonesia. New beginnings provide ideas and challenges that society will face in undergoing change. These ideas and challenges can affect the prevailing trend as described in the book with the theme The New Beginning published by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in 2021. In this study, the projected concept of essentiality and spirituality will be discussed as part of the theme of The New Beginning from a design point of view. By understanding space users, design ideas and innovations are obtained that are in accordance with the needs of space users. Interior space is becoming more important in maintaining the safety and comfort of its occupants. The interior can provide a function as a source of energy and physical and mental health. Shapes, colors and motifs that become people's preferences have changed according to changing patterns of thinking and lifestyle. The results of this study are expected to provide knowledge about trend projections in interior design and become a reference for further design ideas and innovations.
