Abstract
The tomb of Sunan Sendang Duwur is located in the village of Sendang Duwur, Paciran, Lamongan. Sunan Sendang Duwur was one of the figures who spread Islam in the city of Lamongan in the XIV - XV centuries AD. In general, the tomb complex of Sunan Sendang Duwur adapts the structure of the temple. The tomb is made in stages with different heights, there are several gates (gates) and decorations inside. Complex designs in such a way affect social aspects. The study method used is historical or combined with a comparative observational approach. The purpose of this study is to determine the social influence of the design of the tomb complex. The results of the study indicate that sociologically, pilgrims will adjust to the cupola tomb building which is located at the highest location and with the lower door. In addition, the presence of various decorations in the tomb complex makes the tendency of pilgrims to take photos at that location. Thus, the design of the tomb complex has an impact on the social behavior of pilgrims. Keywords Sunan Sendang Duwur, social, design
