Abstract

Cocoa is one of commodities that still have potential to be developed, and as one of the biggest cocoa producers in the world proved by International Cocoa Organization Indonesia keeps trying to fulfilling the demand of the market, such as Europe. Enormous chocolate consumption in Europe giving Indonesia an opportunity to expand their market to Europe especially Germany. This article has the objective of analyzing the competitiveness of Indonesian processed cocoa (HS 1803, 1804, 1805) in Germany market, this research is classified as a descriptive quantitative using Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), and Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) as the analyze tools with annual time series data obtained from Statistic Indonesia (BPS), International Trade Centre (ITC), UN COMTRADE, and International Cocoa Organization (ICCO) using the data from 2014 to 2019. The results using RCA and RSCA shows that Indonesia has a fairly high competitiveness with an average RCA value of 25.26 compared to the other three countries such as Belgium (0.22), Switzerland (0,75), and Netherlands (5.27) but Indonesia’s average RCA value are still lower the Ivory Coast (126.11).
