Abstract
The conflict between Hezbollah and Israeli forces has attracted the attention of the International World, especially the United Nations. So the UN formed a unit of world peace forces called UNIFIL in order to maintain stability and reduce warfare between the two sides so that there were not many casualties and to achieve a ceasefire. Indonesia is one of the countries joined in UNIFIL, sending Garuda contingent troops with an army of 850 people. It is in Indonesia's interest to send the Garuda Contingent to South Lebanon for Peacekeeping Operations and to become a Mediator, for both parties. Dispatch of Garuda garrison contingent has been written in Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 15 of 2006 concerning Garuda Contingent in the Peace Mission in Lebanon. In the Garuda Contingent peace mission in Lebanon, the Lebanese people welcomed the contingent troops from Indonesia, because of the openness of the Contingent personnel to the Lebanese people. That is because the Garuda Contingent troops are very close to the Lebanese community, in terms of social interaction and also assist in social activities carried out while there. The success of the Garuda Contingent in its mission in UNIFIL received a lot of appreciation from the UN and xv foreign countries, and every year the Garuda Contingent will contribute by sending troops to Lebanon to maintain peace.
