Abstract

Endophytic fungi has potential as biological contoller plant disease agents. This research used endophytic fungi isolated from the roots of tomato plants. The purpose of this research was determine the type and potential for inhibitting the growth of the Colletotrichum capsici fungus, stimulating the growth of chili plants and increasing the resistance of chili plants to anthracnose. Endophytic fungi which obtained were isolate stated J1, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, J9, J10. The results showed that 10 identified endophytic fungi contains 3 fungal genus, named genus Penicillium sp., Aspergillus sp., Fusarium sp. Endophytic fungi isolates J3 (Aspergillus sp. 2) and isolates J6 (Penicillium sp. 2) potentially inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum capsici fungus in vitro. Isolate J10 (Fusarium sp.4) has the potential to stimulate the growth of chili plants. Isolate J10 (Fusarium sp.4) has potential to suppress the development of anthracnose in chili plants with the lowest disease intensity. Keywords: endophytic fungi, anthracnose disease, chili plant
