Abstract

Pasuruan is one of the regencies in East Java which has largest industrial area. Industries in Pasuruan are spread over several areas sub-districts, one of which is PIER (Pasuruan Industrial Estate Rembang) which is located in the district of Rembang. PIER is the largest industrial area in Pasuruan, of which PIER itself is a branch of SIER (Surabaya). Rungkut Industrial Estate). The existence of this industrial area has an impact positive and negative. Positive impact in addition to the regional economic sector as well opened many job opportunities in Pasurun. With that, growth population and the need for housing is increasing. The PIER area affects the rapid rate of development growth in the Pasuruan Regency resulting in land or landscape changes be a built-up area. Efforts that can encourage and improve the number of green open spaces in Pasuruan, one of which is by taking part in preservation of the environment, the application of green open space as much as possible and with supported by the application of the concept of green architecture in workers' flats. This design was made with reference to green methods and principles architecture and adapted to the study of objects in determining the extent which will later be put together and become a flat in accordance with the designed. The method of the proposed Green Architecture principles by Robert Vale (1991), including conserving energy (saving energy), working with climate (taking advantage of natural conditions and energy sources), respect for site (responding to the state of the site on the building), respect for user (pay attention to building users), limiting new resources (minimizing new resources), and holistic. The result of this design is a flat that is able to accommodate PIER workers who are close to the work area to save time and security, and stay comfortable and healthy to live there even though it's close with industrial areas, and with the application of Green Architecture principles on all aspects.
