Abstract

Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea Var. Botrytis L.) is a vegetable plant of brassicaceae family with white flowers. This cauliflower has an important role for health and economic value that causes the increasing needs of the community. The composition of soil planting media with a mixture of organic matter is very beneficial for plants ranging from vegetative phase to generative phase. This study aims to find out the influence of the composition of planting media and organic materials on the growth and yield of cauliflower crops and to find out the real interaction between the treatment of planting media composition and the kinds of organic materials on the growth and yield of cauliflower crops. This research was conducted Lengki Hamlet-Suruh Village, Sukodono District, Sidoarjo Regency in March 2020 – June 2020. This study used Randomized Design Group (RAK), which consists of 2 factors, namely the first factor of plant media composition (M) consisting of 3 levels, among others soil and organic matter (1:1), soil and organic matter (1:2), soil and organic matter (2:1). Meanwhile, the second factor of organic material (B) consisting of 4 levels, among others, charcoal husk, sugar cane pulp, compost, and cow manure. The results showed that the combination of planting media treatment (1:2) with organic matter gave the best results when the flower appeared, the weight of the flower, and the diameter of the flower. The composition of the planting media (1:2) gives the best result on the height of the plant, the time the flower appears, and the diameter of the flower. Organic cow manure material gives the best results on the height of the plant, the number of leaves, the time the flower appears, the weight of the flower, and the diameter of the flower.
