Abstract

The cocoa pod husk wastes are potential to provide a value added the output of agronomical practices in the plantation by further processing into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). Accordingly, this study aimed at determining the effect of some concentration level of LOF obtained from cocoa pod husk wastes processing in combination with some urea doses to growth performance of cocoa seedlings. This research was implemented at the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute, arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD). The two factors used, i.e. the level of LOF concentrations (control, 0.25%, 0.50%, 1%) and the level of urea with corresponding to recommendation doses (control, 10%, 25% and 50%). The analysis demonstrated that the combination of LOF and urea are able to improve the plant height and diameter in compare to control. Additionally, the combination of LOF 2.5 ml/L and 10% of urea dose resulted in the increase in the N uptake efficiency by 44.60%.
