Abstract

Surabaya East Coast region is a protected area and mangrove forest area in the estuary and coastal areas. This research was carried out on the estuary and coastal area of the Wonorejo and Gunung Anyar Mangrove and was carried out in February - March 2020. The purpose of this study was to study the physical and chemical parameters using abundance of phytoplankton and chemistry to the abundance of phytoplankton in estuary and coastal area of the Surabaya East Coast region. Sampling with a purposive random sampling method, where each sample point is measured and taken as many as 3 repetitions every week. Physical and chemical parameters used are COD, TSS, DO, pH, salinity, intelligence, current speed, nitrate, phosphate, and temperature. Biotic indicators of phytoplankton abundance are index of diversity, evenness, and dominance. The results showed a diversity index was 1,699-2,530, evenness index was 0.588- 0.912, and a dominance index was 0.104-0.197 for Mangrove Wonorejo. The results of the study at the Gunung Anyar Mangrove showed a diversity index was 1.571-2.197, evenness index was 0.541-0.659, and a dominance index was 0.165- 0.339. Analysis of parameter data using multiple linear regression with the results of 70% abundance of phytoplankton in Mangrove Wonorejo stored by the value of COD, TSS, salinity, and phosphate content; and 92% in Gunung Anyar Coastal estuary and Mangrove are required by the parameters of temperature, COD, current strength, and salinity.
