Abstract

Freedom is all unwanted sounds that originate from the means of production or working tools which at some level can cause hearing problems. The existing wisdom in PDAM Tirta Kencana Samarinda is produced by working tools and machines used to produce drinking water. This has a negative impact on workers in the area. The effect that can be resolved from a person's conversation, resulting in a misunderstanding due to information that is not conveyed properly. Can even be resolved. Measurements and arrangements need to be done in a workplace that has a source of danger from the operation of work equipment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of noise caused by production processing machines and analyze the performance of PDAM employees who are exposed to noise due to the sound of production processing machines. Noise measuring devices use Sound Level Meters (SLM) and multiple linear regression analysis is performed. Noise measurement with SLM and using multiple linear regression methods is useful to find out the impact caused by noise on employee performance. Noise level in the working area of PDAM Tirta Kencana Samarinda is 70.66 to 77.39 dBA. If it refers to KepmenLH No. KEP-48/MENLH/11/1996 the noise level in the industrial activity environment is 70 dBA, so that it exceeds the noise level standard. But if it refers to Permenaker No. 5 of 2018 Noise Threshold Value in workers exposed to noise for 8 hours is 85 dBA, so it does not exceed the Noise Threshold Value. Variable Communication Disorders (X2) significantly influence Employee Performance, because the p-value (0.00) < alpha (0.05). This shows that noise causes communication problems in employees such as shouting at work and mistakes in communication, so that it can affect employee performance. Keywords: employees, noise, samarinda, PDAM, sound level meter
