Abstract

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a contributor to air pollution from the transportation sector. Jalan Wonokromo, Jalan Joyoboyo, Jalan Adityawarman, Jalan Mayjen Sungkono, Jalan Raya Darmo, Jalan Urip Sumoharjo are traffic-intensive roads. From the above data it is necessary to identify the level of CO gas emissions produced by motor vehicles and air quality related to the feasibility of the road to be used as a plan for the Surabaya monorail and tram routes. Data analysis consists of two stages: first, vehicle calculation using traffic counting survey is used to calculate emissions using Mobilev software; Road Traffic Exhaust Emission Calculation Model so that it can be known the amount of CO gas emissions released and using the CO Aeroqual tool to calculate ambient air quality. The results show that there are 2 roads with an average of over 10000 vehicles that cross the Joyoboyo and Mayjen Sungkono roads producing carbon monoxide (CO) emissions which average more than 5.0 kg / hour total carbon monoxide (CO), this can be a reference where the carbon monoxide (CO) emission value of at least 5.0 kg / hour can potentially affect the surrounding air quality. While the ambient air quality produced by the two roads exceeds the ambient air quality standards in Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 41 of 1999 which is 30,000 µg / Nm3 . That way both roads can be considered to be the Surabaya MRT route. For simulation of CO emissions produced by monorails and trams of 17,775.80 tons CO / year. These emissions are apparently smaller than the emissions produced by private vehicles. Keywords: CO emissions, Ambient air, MRT Surabaya, Mobilev
