Abstract

Every year, workplace accidents increase, especially in Indonesia. Accidents can affect work productivity, aside from causing fatalities and material losses. A good Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) culture is needed to reduce the number of workplace accidents, such as implementing the use of safety induction. Safety induction can be provided in educational institutions, including the University of Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" East Java, with the aim of preventing work accidents on campus. The implementation of safety induction can be done through media, such as motion graphic animation videos, in addition to verbal communication and training. The motion graphic animation media for safety induction is designed as an engaging, persuasive, and easily understandable communication medium. This design utilizes data collection methods including primary and secondary data collection. Primary data is obtained directly from the sources using questionnaires, observations, and interviews. On the other hand, secondary data is obtained from existing sources such as articles, journals, and books. The collected data is then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. Qualitative data analysis involves the application of the 5W+1H analysis technique, which answers the questions of what, when, who, where, and how, based on observations and interviews. Quantitative data analysis, obtained from the questionnaires, employs descriptive statistical analysis using frequency distributions and measures of central tendency. The results of this method yield verbal and visual concepts that will be implemented in the design of the motion graphic animation video for safety induction at the University of Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" East Java.
