Abstract

Eating is closely related to the development of the child itself. Some of the signs in children who are malnourished can be seen from insignificant weight loss. Lack of nutritious food in a prolonged period can have an adverse effect on children's growth and result in changes in brain metabolism. The composition of the plate also affects how much nutrition enters the body. Therefore the first thing that needs to be done is to start new healthy habits from home. You need to know that nutritious food doesn't have to be expensive, lots of cheap and healthy food ingredients that are easy to get around. However, as many as 63.1% of parents have difficulty providing nutritious food to their children. Based on these problems, the design of an illustrated book is considered appropriate considering that there are still not many illustrated books that discuss a variety of nutritious foods. This design uses primary and secondary data collection methods. This primary data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires via Google form to the target audience, namely parents aged 30-35 years who have dependent children. This questionnaire is used to find out the child's diet and the food menu that is usually consumed. In addition, interviews were conducted with nutritionists to find out about nutritional problems that often occur in children and about nutritious food ingredients. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from several books, journals, and health articles. Through data collection and analysis using 5W+1H, a design concept was produced with the keyword "Healthy with Fun, Nutritious Food". This keyword has the meaning of a message to parents that nutritious food will create a healthy body. With the design of the illustrated book "Eat Right, Healthy Children", it is hoped that parents will understand more easily that nutritious food does not have to be expensive. But it is very diverse and contains various important substances needed by the body such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Besides that, it is hoped that the design of this illustrated book can educate parents about nutritional problems in children and the need to pay attention to certain foods that are not good for children. Keywords: Illustrated Book; Nutritional food; Parent;
