Abstract
Indonesia is a country with an abundance of artistic and cultural diversity. As an Indonesian citizen, it is an obligation to be able to appreciate, preserve, and love the culture that exists in this country. One of the cultures that Indonesia has is musical instruments. In various parts of Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke, they have their own distinctive musical instruments. However, the current rapid development of globalization affects youth in everyday life, especially in the field of culture. The ease of accessing foreign culture has caused the entry of western culture into Indonesia to have a major influence through the current development of electronic media, so that it has begun to change the mindset and behavior of Indonesian people. The importance of instilling a sense of love for the motherland from an early age will be seen when the child grows up. Parents should at least guide their children to get adequate and proper education as early as possible. Of course, the learning media is adapted to the character of the children so that information can be conveyed. There needs to be interactive learning that is fun and provides a pleasant experience in conveying the reception of information without being patronizing. The existence of this board game will help parents or teachers to introduce the diversity that Indonesia has so that children can play and learn at the same time and instill in the nation's younger generation to love, appreciate and preserve the diversity of Indonesian culture, especially in traditional musical instruments. This design uses the design thinking method which goes through several stages through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Then analyze the results of the data that has been obtained. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed so that the keywords "Understanding, Traditional and Fun" are found. This keyword is used as a reference in designing verbal and visual concepts. The design of this board game aims to introduce one of Indonesian culture, namely East Javanese traditional musical instruments with a fun and not boring learning atmosphere.
