Abstract

Grapes are vines that have good value to develop. Propagation by cuttings can be done in the cultivation of grapes. One of the problems encountered in propagating by cuttings is the small number of cuttings that can form roots. The selection of planting media and the application of the right concentration of rootone-f can increase the growth potential of cuttings by stimulating the growth of roots and shoots. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the composition of the planting media and the concentration of rootone-f on the early growth of grapevine (Vitis labrusca) cuttings. The research was conducted in Beciro village, Wonoayu sub-district, Sidoarjo, East Java. The research design used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) where there were 2 treatment factors with 3 replications. The first factor is the composition of the planting media which consists of 3 levels, namely soil: husk, soil: husk: chicken manure, soil: sand: chicken manure. The second factor was the concentration of rootone-f which consisted of 4 levels, namely 200 ppm, 300 ppm, 400 ppm, and 500 ppm so that 12 treatment combinations were obtained. The results showed that the combination treatment of soil and husk planting media composition with a concentration of Rootone-F 300 ppm was significantly different and had a better effect than other treatments which were also tested on the parameters of shoot length and number of shoots. The single treatment of soil and husk planting media composition had a significant effect on the parameters of shoot length and number of shoots, but had no significant effect on the parameters of root wet weight and plant wet weight. The single treatment with a concentration of 300 ppm Rootone�F significantly affected the parameters of shoot length, number of shoots, root wet weight and plant wet weight.
