Abstract

Okra cultivation has a very good prospect because the demand for production is quite high. One way to increase the yield of vegetable crops and efficiency of production costs and increase added value is through fertilization and pruning in accordance with the optimal needs of plants. NPK fertilizer is a compound fertilizer that contains complete macro nutrients needed by plants. Fertilization treatment alone is not enough to improve the yield and quality of okra plants, but it is necessary to do other maintenance efforts such as pruning which aims to form plants by regulating or directing plant growth to increase the yield or quality of fruit or flowers produced. In connection with the above, research was conducted for the ability of growth and production yields with the influence of NPK fertilizer doses and pruning time on red okra plants. The research design uses RAL with 2 factors, the first is the dose of NPK fertilizer with 3 levels, namely (N1) 30g/polybag, (N2) 40g/polybag, (N3) 50g/polybag. The second factor is pruning time consisting of 4 levels, namely (W0) No pruning, (W1) pruning at 15 HST, (W2) pruning at 21 HST and (W3) pruning at 30 HST which was repeated three times so that there were 36 experimental units. Further test analysis using BNJ 5%. The results showed that the combination treatment between the dose of NPK fertilizer and pruning time gave a real effect. The treatment of NPK fertilizer doses gave a real effect on the parameters of plant height at a dose of 30g/polybag and the number of leaves at a dose of 40 g/polybag. The treatment of pruning time gives a real effect. The treatment of pruning time 15 HST showed the best results.
