Abstract

The objectives to be achieved in this research are determine the business development strategy that must be carried out in business development based on PLC analysis dan knowing the position and application of business development strategies with the BCG matrix method by Julius Cosmetics Business. The analysis method used in this research is the Product Life Cycle (PLC) method to determine the stages of the product and also the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) matrix to determine the position of the product in terms of growth and market share.Julius Cosmetics business is in the growth stage according to product life cycle analysis (PLC). Meanwhile, the BCG Matrix is in the position of dairy cows (cows). The research method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with the aim of being able to collect factual information, make comparisons and evaluations, and find out what other similar businesses do if they are in the same situation. In this case, Julius Cosmetics Business faces obstacles in the form of high cash requirements and low cash income. The Product Life Cycle method analysis found that the Julius Cosmetics Business is currently in the growth stage with the results of a decline limit of 1.025, a growth limit of 16.005, and an average limit of 82.41 which indicates that the business is in a growth stage where the business needs a variety of product lines and grouping of target consumers. Meanwhile, the BCG Matrix Analysis conducted on the Julius Cosmetics Business concluded that this business is in the cash cows quadrant which requires product development and concentric diversification.
