Abstract

Eggplants (Solanum melongena L.) usually just side cultivated plant not the main cultivated plant with the cultivating crops that are not yet insentive, so that eggplant production is still low. Usually still rely on open land so that in cultivation of eggplants it requires a large area, high costs, complicated maintenance, and its cultivation it must be adapted to climatic conditions. As a determinant of its success, the application of zeolite and cow manure to obtain optimal results in the growth of eggplants. This study aims to determine the interaction that occur between the application of zeolite and cow manure and to get the best zeolite and cow manure dosages for the growth and yield of eggplants. This research was conducted in Kedungturi, Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency, which was planted with polybags in February 2020 - May 2020. This research used a factorial experiment which was compiled based on a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors and repeated three times. The first factor is Zeolite which consists of 4 levels of treatment and the second factor is Cow manure which consists of 3 levels of treatment. The results showed that there was an interaction between zeolite and cow manure on the growth and yield of eggplant. Zeolite treatment of 4 tonnes/ha could increase the number of fruit by 28.20%, and Cow Manure by 10 tonnes/ha could increase the number of fruits by 58.45%. Keywords : Cow Manure, Eggplants, Zeolite
