Abstract
The purpose of this study is determine the right of compensation for residents or communities who stay in PT KAI’S assets with openly and in good faith wich have met the criteria according to applicable regulations regarding land control for the construction of railroad facilities and legal protection measures. The research method used is juridical normative. This study shows that residents of alon-alon contong sub-district who stay in PT KAI DAOP 8 assets in surabaya have the right to compensation with agreement of the parties. there are 2 legal protection measures that can be provided for residents who are affected by land control for the construction of railway facilities, namely the right to apply for protection measures withoutthe court and the right to apply for protection measures through the court
