Abstract
Tobacco production in East Java Province has experienced various problems which have caused the export performance of East Java Province tobacco in the international market to fluctuate. This study aims to analyze comparative competitiveness, competitive competitiveness, and factors affecting East Java Province's tobacco exports in the international market. The first objective was analyzed using the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (RCA), the second objective was analyzed using the Trade Specialization Index (ISP), and the third objective was analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of the research on competitiveness show that East Java Province's tobacco exports have strong comparative competitiveness and weak competitive competitiveness. Production variables, real exchange rates, domestic prices, domestic consumption, and tobacco competitiveness simultaneously affect exports. Production variables, real exchange rates, and domestic consumption have a negative and significant effect on tobacco export. The domestic price variable has no significant effect while the competitiveness variable has a positive and significant effect on East Java Province's tobacco exports.
