Abstract

Markers and markers that operate in television commercials can be analyzed based on the meaning of verbal and non-verbal messages. One of them is the television commercial for "Mie Sedaap Korean Spicy Soup" produced by PT. Wings Food. The number of competing products for other brands of instant noodles makes PT. Wings Food as a company that produces "Mie Sedaap" releases a variety of new flavors. One of them is "Mie Sedaap Korean Spicy Soup" by presenting Korean actor, Siwon Choi, as the brand ambassador of delicious noodles. The use of this Brand Ambassador is considered as a producer strategy to convey its message. The purpose of this study was to analyze the meaning of verbal and non-verbal messages contained in the television commercial "Mie Sedaap Korean Spicy Soup". The research method used qualitative methods and descriptive analysis. Data analysis was carried out on the elements that make up advertisements, namely verbal messages both written and spoken, as well as non-verbal messages in the form of artificial messages, kinesic messages, and proxemic messages. Sources of data are taken from video advertisements circulating on YouTube and television. The results show that verbal messages and non-verbal messages combine to form one meaning of advertising, namely inviting the audience to try a new flavor variant of "Mie Sedaap", namely Korean Spicy Soup. The meaning that is difficult to understand in non-verbal messages is supported by verbal messages, and vice versa so that the meaning of the advertising message can be conveyed as a whole.
