Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in natural products, but in reality Indonesia is still a country with a relatively high poverty rate compared to its neighbors in ASEAN, especially East Java, one of which is Madura Island, which is one of the regions with a high poverty rate. One of the indicators of poverty is household expenditure which includes food consumption. Therefore, this study analyzes the food consumption commodities of farmers and determines the amount of food consumption expenditure in Gunung Maddah Village. This research method uses non- probability sampling with a sample of 30 farmers. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. data processing in this study was processed independently using a formula with the help of Excel to answer the third objective, to answer the first and second objectives using descriptive analysis by processing the data that has been obtained both directly and indirectly. The results of this study indicate that the food consumption of farmers in Gunung Village Maddah is in the form of direct food and prepared food that has been processed and expenses for food consumption are 54% and non-food consumption are 46%.
