Abstract

Pre plan of Terephthalate Acid Plant from Dimethyl Terephthalate It is planned for a production capacity of 9,000,000 tons/year. Terephthalic Acid is a monomer of polymer products such as polyester or Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET). Polymer materials are used for the needs of household appliances, coatings and especially the bottle industry plastic, clothing and others. Briefly describe the process of the Terephthalate Acid plant as following : First Dimethyl Terephthalate is dissolved in water then hydrolyzed to form terephthalic acid. Terephthalate Acid solution then concentrated in a flash drum, crystallized in a crystallizer and dried in rotary dryer and ready to be marketed. The factory is planned to be built in Gresik and will operate for 330 years day/year with the following data: - Production capacity: 9000000 tons/year - Material used: Dimethyl Terephthalate - Operating system : Continuous - Operating time: 330 days/year; 24 hours/day - Land area : 20089 m2 - Number of employees: 151 people - Form of company : Limited Liability Company (PT) - Organizational Structure: Line and staff Economic Analysis:  Construction period: 2 years  Factory age: 10 years  FCI : IDR 1,018,246,399,453.46  WCI : IDR 5,101,000,000,000  TCI : IDR 6,119,000,000,000  Cost of raw materials (1 year): Rp. 17,817,104,320,295.40  Utility costs: Rp. 27,388,763,435.48  Total Production Cost: IDR 20,400,000,000,000  Sales results: IDR 22,437,068,236,249  Bank interest: 9.95%  ROI after tax: 26.09% PBP: 1 year 11 months  IRR : 19.73 %  BEP : 32.819 %
