Abstract

Wonosalam Subdistrict has various forms of land use including agricultural areas, plantations, forest areas, and so on. This research was conducted on three land use units, namely paddy fields, garden land, and moorland. Intensive land use in the absence of proper treatment can lead to a reduction in essential nutrients from the soil and soil fertility will decrease continuously. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical and chemical properties of soil in various land use units in Wonosalam District, Jombang Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method by sampling using the purposive random sampling method based on three Land Map Units (SPL) namely SPL 1 Paddy Land, SPL 2 Field Land, and SPL 3 Garden Land as well as analysis of selected soil samples. The results showed that the characteristics of soil physical properties in the use of paddy fields, moorlands, and gardens in Wonosalam district vary from the weight of soil contents ranging from 1.01 – 1.32 g / cm3, soil specific gravity ranging from 2.26-2.43 g / cm3, and soil porosity ranging from 43.44-56.27%. The characteristics of soil chemical properties in the use of paddy fields, fields, and gardens in Wonosalam sub-district are soil pH ranging from 5.07-5.91, organic C content ranging from 0.17-1.51%, and soil CEC value ranging from 18.30-33.15 cmol / kg. The nutrient content in the use of paddy fields, fields, and gardens in Wonosalam sub-district is N total soil ranges from 0.04-0.11%, P is available ranging from 1.67-94.60 ppm, and Kdd ranges from 0.20 – 1.08 cmol / kg. The presence of C-organic soils has a fairly strong density with the specific gravity of the soil (r = 0.6118) and is very strong with the total nitrogen of the soil (r = 0.9450). And the soil pH value against the availability of soil phosphorus has a value of r = 0.6495 which is relatively strong.
