Abstract
Humans always use language, symbols and symbols in communicating, guiding information and feelings experienced, and communicating with each other. Communication is not only through oral and written, but also through the mass media, one of which is through film. In the film Dua Garis Biru there are many semiotic elements that are indirectly related to each other to form a series of stories. The researcher analyzed this film using the Roland Barthes semiotic method through three elements, namely connotation, denotation, and myth. The object of this research is the film Dua Garis Biru. The communication that exists within the family in this film is not good so that there is no prohibition between children and parents, this is evidenced by the interactions that exist between children and parents.
